At the age of thirteen years, a simple humble girl from Koraput district in Odisha has made not only the state proud but India as well. She is the winner of Community Impact Award at the prestigious Google Science Fair competition in California.
With her idea and drawing inspiration from his father, she put forwarded the usage of corn cobs (waste part after the corn is taken out) to clean waste water by running through different layers of corn cobs. It works with simple usage of corn cobs and need no or less investment in rural area. This in turn has given option for better opportunity by Google to assist her with support from Scientific American, a sponsor of the award. She received $10,000 as prize money. She definitely has a future for Odisha & India.
He is a magician when it comes to sand. Give him and watch the magic unfold with his hands playing through the sand to create an art. He has been awarded Padma Shri by Government of India, the fourth highest civilian in 2014. He is awardee of many international events including Young Indian leadership award 2010 by CNN IBN, “National Tourism award 2005–2006” for most innovative tourism project by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. India and many more.
His art portrays a message in his unique manner. He has taken the state to a whole new level of marketing his talent and yet remains a humble person. He earned great accolades and international attention after his sculpture on Black Taj Mahal. He has 27 championship prizes till date and represents India in almost all championships. He has his name registered under Limca book of records. This journey is just the beginning for a glorious Odisha foot print over the world.

Oh boy! This name is no more an unknown brand to us. Very few people know that the brain behind OYO room is none other than a guy from Cuttack, Odisha. He is one of the famous drop out of college. With his hunger to bring a change and dare to take risk, he was selected for the Thiel Fellowship, created by PayPal founder, Peter Thiel, who provides $100,000 to college drop-outs under 22 years of age to pursue their dream. Ritesh is the first resident Indian Thiel fellow.
Now OYO rooms is present in 120 cities and is India’s largest budget hotel chain and is flourishing. He has been awarded Business World Young Entrepreneur Award in 2015, Top 50 Entrepreneurs in 2013 by TATA First Dot powered by NEN Awards and few more.
She is undoubtedly a famous singer now with a string of hit songs in her career. She has been the face of Bollywood and face of Odisha with numerous hits. She has performed in many concerts and has featured in many music videos, albums, Bollywood films. She has recorded many remixes by David Bowie. She was a mainstream singer in some of the episodes in Satyamev Jayate. She hails from Bhubaneswar, Odisha and has a strong academic background. She is an Engineer and MBA graduate from Symbiosis, Pune. She recently got lot of attention after the remix of famous sambalpuri song – Ranagabati. Presently she resides in Mumbai with her husband, Ram Sampath, a song composer and music director and is a partner of music production group, OmGrown Music. Sona Mohapatra has featured in all the ‘top influencer’ lists of various magazines like, Femina, Elle, Vogue & has been awarded the Loreal Femina winner in the performing arts & music category in 2012.
The 14th Chief Minister of Odisha, an excellent groudbreaker after his father, Late Biju Patnaik, is now a leader in every sense to India.
